LISTENER HELP

Buying, listening, and managing your music

How do I find and preview music?

Use Search, Genres, Top Listens, and New to explore the catalogue. A track's play control lets visitors hear its public preview. Full-track playback requires ownership of the music or an active streaming plan.

Do I need an account?

You may browse and listen to public previews without signing in. Sign in or create an account before checkout so purchases, tickets, favourites, playlists, and streaming access attach safely to your profile.

How do I buy music or tickets?

  1. Add the song, album, hard-copy item, or available show ticket to your cart.
  2. Open the cart, review the items and quantities, and continue to checkout.
  3. Sign in when prompted and confirm the order information.
  4. Choose an offered payment option and follow its secure instructions.
  5. After payment is confirmed, open Purchased or Library for eligible downloads and ticket information.

Where are my purchased downloads?

Sign in with the account used for the order, then open Purchased. Eligible songs and albums provide download actions there. If a paid order is missing, contact BuyMusic with the account email address and order reference.

How does streaming work?

  • Public previews remain available while browsing.
  • A once-off plan covers its stated access period and does not renew automatically.
  • A recurring plan renews for the period shown during signup until it is cancelled.
  • Plan status and cancellation controls are available from the signed-in Profile area.

How do favourites and playlists work?

Use the heart control to save music to Favourites. A signed-in listener can create and manage playlists, add music, rename playlists, choose a default playlist, and remove playlists that are no longer wanted.

What happens with hard-copy media?

Hard-copy media requires a delivery address. Checkout asks for it when the cart contains a physical item, and the address is retained with the order for fulfilment.

How do I pay safely?

BuyMusic does not ask you to send card details by email. Online card information is entered on OneGate's secure payment screen. Never send card numbers, PINs, or security codes to BuyMusic support.

ARTIST HELP

Start here: your Artist account

  1. Create one BuyMusic login. You can browse, buy and manage your Artist profile from the same account. An existing listener can start Artist setup without creating another login.
  2. Check email for your verification code. Open the account menu, find Verify your contact details, enter the six-character code and select Verify. Use Re-send verification code if needed. This verifies your contact details; it is separate from paying for a plan.
  3. Complete your Artist profile. Enter your Artist or stage name and SAMRO IPI number. If you do not have an IPI yet, use your ID/passport number for now and read the SAMRO help in setup.
  4. Choose your plan. You can start with the Free Artist plan. The plan cards show the current prices, upload limits and included services. A paid Artist plan includes streaming on that Artist account.
  5. Upload and prepare your first release. Open Artist Dashboard, choose Upload song, then add the recording, artwork and accurate credits. Upload songs before building an album, then submit the release for review. Uploading alone does not mean a release is published.
  6. Find this guide again. Use Artist HELP near the top of Artist Dashboard or in your account menu. Closing HELP returns to your current work, including an unfinished signup form.

Payment received, but billing needs attention? This is different from email verification. Check the billing message and contact BuyMusic with the payment reference. Do not pay again for a payment already confirmed as received.

ARTIST PLANS

Plans, included streaming and renewals

For yearly OneGate Artist plans, access starts when the initial payment is confirmed. The first renewal is on the first of the month on or after a full year from payment; later renewals use that same date each year.

For example, payment on 21 October 2026 gives a first renewal on 1 November 2027, then 1 November 2028. Payment on 1 October 2026 renews on 1 October 2027. Existing paid time is preserved.

Any initial bridging days are included in the yearly price. The streaming allocation for an initial partial month is prorated, followed by twelve full calendar months. This is an allocation from your Artist fee, not an additional streaming charge.

Automatic yearly card renewals are currently paused. Contact BuyMusic about a renewal that needs attention; do not assume your card has been charged. Eligible OneGate plans receive a reminder seven days before renewal. Automatic renewals, where enabled, are processed no earlier than 08:00 South African time.

The current plan screen and your subscription record are authoritative for your price, renewal date and cancellation options. Other payment providers may use different renewal arrangements. Contact BuyMusic if a date or payment needs clarification.
